Did you know that the human brain houses around 100 billion neurons and never truly switches off, even when we’re asleep? Information can travel between neurons at speeds of up to 268 miles per hour, and there is strong evidence that keeping your brain active, alongside a healthy lifestyle, can reduce the risk of brain diseases like dementia.
The good news is that your brain can rewire itself at any age. This process, known as neuroplasticity, means our brains thrive on challenge, connection, and physical exercise. Small daily habits can make a big difference to how we work, feel and age.
In partnership with The Open University and Hallmark Foundation, we’re hosting a free webinar on Tuesday 19 May from 1:30-2:30pm to support you and your colleagues to age well through midlife and beyond.
Drawing on The Open University’s Five Pillars of Ageing Well programme, this free one-hour webinar will introduce evidence-based, practical ways to build ‘sticky’ and ‘stackable’ habits that support brain health as you age.
In this session, you’ll:
- explore how neuroscience can help us build habits that support our long-term brain health
- discover ‘stackable’ ideas that fit easily into the flow of work and everyday life
- take away ready-to-use activities to help you and your colleagues age well through midlife and beyond.
This webinar is ideal for HR and Learning and Development colleagues, learning champions, and anyone who is interested in ageing better through midlife and beyond.
The webinar will be supported by a new, free downloadable toolkit and resources launching during Learning at Work Week.
