In this policy note, Paul Bivand and Mark Corney suggest that there is a great deal of overlap between Skills England and the skills system, and the Labour Market Advisory Board and the employment support system. This is arguably more so than the overlap between Skills England and the skills system on the one hand, and the Industrial Strategy Council and industrial policy on the other.
Following analysis of Skills England's funding remit, economic inactivity and the skills levels of young people and adults, the authors set out why Skills England and the Labour Market Advisory Board should work together with key recommendations to support young people and adults into employment.
