Family Fortunes

Family Fortunes is an innovative training programme to help families improve their financial wellbeing and resilience. It has been developed by the Campaign for Learning with funding by the Money Advice Service. The programme will also form a major research project to be evaluated by UCL-Institute of Education.

Family learning and ESOL tutors and practitioners and educators working with families to support learning will be able to access the training. The programme also includes practical activity ideas, access to exclusive resources and simple evaluation tools to measure the programme’s impact.

About the programme

Families are under increasing financial pressure, but often don’t seek help until they reach crisis point. Family Fortunes is a preventative approach that helps parents and children to develop positive money habits that will last them a lifetime, whilst having fun learning together. The training provides an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge and increase capacity to deliver valuable support to families. For more information visit the site below:

About the training

Our practical course will enable you to run the Family Fortunes programme, a preventative approach that helps parents and children to develop positive money habits, whilst having fun learning together. The training course is for anyone looking to better support families with financial education and money management. It provides skills for those with no financial capability training and offers new approaches for those who have already worked in this field. We run regular workshops throughout the year and can also offer in-house training.

The workshop provides attendees with:

  • an opportunity to explore the Family Fortunes resources and discover how to adapt them to your families and setting.
  • share the experiences of tutors, who have delivered the programme in primary schools and children’s centres.
  • an online toolkit, marketing materials and access to a series of webinars to enable them to deliver the 'Family Fortunes' programme as soon as they get back to their organisation.
